2020 Operating Budget and Related Public Hearing


                A Public Hearing will be  conducted on September 4, 2019 at 6:30 pm for the purpose of  soliciting public comment about the  proposed June 30, 2020 Operating Budget . The Hearing will be held in the Board Room of School Board Office located at 805 East Seventh Street, Thibodaux, Louisiana.

                Any person requiring special assistance to participate in the meeting, such as an interpreter for persons who are deaf, is asked to notify Mr. Dean Guidry or Daphne Jones at (985) 446-5631.

Professional Vacancy- Business Manager

Business Manager
Length of Employment:  240 days
Salary Range:  $75,862 -$94,122
The deadline for the receipt of the complete application packet in the superintendent's office for the above-listed positions has been set at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019; any applications received after this deadline will not be considered.  The application packet must  be submitted to me (Superintendent’s Office, P. O. Box 879, Thibodaux, LA 70302) in an envelope marked "Application for Business Manager" and shall contain the following:  (1) Application for Business Manager; (2) resume; (3) copy of applicant's transcripts conferring degree(s) and Louisiana CPA license, if applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree with a minimum of 24 hours of business-related courses, such as accounting, finance, or management.  Master’s degree in public or business administration or Certified Public Accountant licensed in Louisiana.  Minimum of five (5) years experience in one of the above fields, including at least three (3) years in supervision and/or administrative capacity.

2019-20 Bus Routes

Please use the route sheets as a general guide as times and bus stops are subject to change. Posted routes are based off of routes from the 2018-2019 school year. Routes without times attached are new routes that have not yet been conducted. High School routes begin at approximately 6:00 a.m. Middle School routes begin at approximately 6:45 a.m. Elementary School routes begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. Please be sure to be at the bus stop approximately ten minutes prior to the expected arrival of the school bus. Please feel free to contact the Transportation Department with any questions or concerns.

South Lafourche High School (SLHS), in Cut Off, Louisiana is the 2019 Teacher Leader Summit Premiere School. In 2018, the school earned both “Top Gains” and “Equity Honoree” distinctions, and graduated over 95 percent of its students, 90 percent of which earned a college or career credential.

Lafourche Parish Public Schools Partners with Fletcher Technical Community College

Fletcher Technical Community College and Career Magnet Center have added another partnership! In addition to CMC's current FTCC dual enrollment programs in Allied Health, Automotive Technology, Certified Nursing Assistant, Electricity, Integrated Production Technology, and Welding, we can now boast a DE Marine Diesel Engine Technician Program for the 2019-2020 school year! FTCC Chancellor, Kristine Strickland and LPSD Superintendent, Dr. Louis Voiron signed the agreement.

St. Charles Elementary has been nominated by Louisiana to join the esteemed community of National Blue Ribbon Schools.
National Blue Ribbon Schools are public and non-public elementary, middle, and high schools that are producing outstanding results for all students. They have demonstrated consistent excellence, and made progress in closing gaps in student achievement. The National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition program is part of a larger U. S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about effective school leadership and promising instructional practices.
