Yesterday we had a fantastic and productive first meeting of the Superintendent's 2025-26 Employee Advisory Council. It was inspiring to see employees from different schools and roles come together to share their perspectives for the betterment of our district. At yesterday’s meeting, the council members selected Claudia Landry of Raceland Upper Elementary School to serve as their chairperson for the year.

The Employee Advisory Council serves as a direct line of communication between our district's employees and the Superintendent. Its primary function is to gather, discuss, and offer recommendations on key issues that affect the staff and the overall working environment. The council gives employees a formal, organized voice to share feedback and suggestions on districtwide policies, procedures, and initiatives, discuss challenges and opportunities from the ground level, and collaborate on strategies to improve employee engagement, morale, and operational efficiency.

We're excited about the work ahead and look forward to the positive impact this council will have on our district.

Members present included (front row, L to R):Toby Dufrene, GES; Claudia Landry, RUES; Haley Lirette, RMS; Joni Larousse, LKMS; (back row): Superintendent Jarod Martin; Connor Cheramie, BBMS; Derek Brunet, GMMS; Samantha Orgeron, SLHS; Monica Tabor, RUES; and Shareka Thomas, TES.
