October is National Principals Month, and we're taking this opportunity to celebrate the 28 incredible leaders who guide our schools. It’s a job that’s so much more than a title; principals work tirelessly to ensure our schools run smoothly and our students succeed.
They are instructional leaders, community builders, budget managers, disciplinarians, and mentors. It's not just an administrative role. Principals create a positive school culture, support teachers, and make tough decisions that impact the entire school community.
Thank you, principals, for your incredible dedication and for all you do to lead our schools and inspire our students. Your impact is invaluable!

🎉 Congratulations to the new members of the Superintendent's Employee Advisory Council!
This amazing group of teachers and support staff will meet quarterly with the Superintendent to share direct feedback from our classrooms, school sites and transportation experience. They will serve as the voice for their colleagues, helping to improve communication and provide valuable insights on district operations and current issues or events that may affect their work, their coworkers, and/or the school community.

🦅 The Lafourche Parish School District is proud to participate in 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 this week alongside public schools across Louisiana.
🏛 Celebrate Freedom Week is a statewide observance held annually in September to coincide with Constitution Day and Constitution Week. It promotes civic understanding and constitutional literacy among Louisiana students and helps them not only understand the rights they enjoy as Americans, but also the responsibilities they carry as engaged citizens.
🗽 As we reflect on these fundamental ideals, we encourage our students to think about the role they can play in shaping our future. By understanding our foundational documents, including the Constitution, and the freedoms they protect, may they be inspired to become active, informed members of our community and beyond.

🎉Congratulations to Alaina LeBlanc and Lisa Boudreaux, who were both honored at the 19th Annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala on July 26! This inspiring event, held at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, celebrates the brightest stars in education from across Louisiana.
Alaina, who is entering her second year with LPSD as a teacher at Bayou Blue Upper Elementary, was honored as a finalist in the Louisiana Department of Education’s New Teacher of the Year program. Lisa, the exceptional principal of Raceland Upper Elementary School, was recognized as a state Principal of the Year semifinalist.
We're incredibly proud of both Alaina and Lisa and are so fortunate to have them on our team!
