An employee spotlight graphic for Lafourche Parish Schools featuring Lindsey Savoie, an Educational Diagnostician at the Pupil Appraisal Center. The left side of the graphic has a blue and white background featuring a circular headshot of Lindsey Savoie, a smiling woman with long brown hair. Below her photo is the Lafourche Schools logo, her name, job title, and quick facts: her hometown is Larose, her education includes South Lafourche High School, University of Holy Cross, and American College of Education, and she has been with LPSD for 14 years. The right side has a yellow background containing a Q&A section with six icons and text blocks: Interests/hobbies: Baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Fun/unusual fact: Her professor administered a "Test Theory" final exam to her at a fast-food restaurant on a Sunday when she couldn't attend the scheduled final. Inspiration for education career: Influential educators Mrs. Mary (Duet) Arceneaux and Ms. Patti Comeaux, who taught with compassion and challenged her. Most rewarding part of job: Serving Lafourche Parish and making a difference for students and families. Advice for someone starting at LPSD: Never be afraid to ask an assessment team member questions about an educational evaluation. Professional motto: "Developing Reflective Stewards: Educating Hearts and Minds and Providing Experiential Service," a phrase from her undergraduate program at UHCNO.

For today’s #SummerSpotlight, the Lafourche Schools Spotlight shines brightly on Lindsey Savoie.

Lindsey is an educational diagnostician who has dedicated 14 of her 18 years in education to the Lafourche Parish School District.

Lindsey is a graduate of South Lafourche High School and University of Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education 1-5 and Special Education 1-12. She earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education and a Master’s Plus 30: Reading Specialist, English as a Second Language and Educational Diagnostician from UHCNO.

Lindsey was nominated for the Spotlight for the work she does to support and advocate for educational diagnosticians across the state as the President-Elect of the Louisiana Association of Educational Diagnosticians. After presenting at last year’s Louisiana Department of Education Pupil Appraisal Conference, she was recently invited by LDOE staff to co-present at this year’s Teacher Leader Summit on the topic “Adapting and Interpreting Assessments for Students with Disabilities: A Practical Approach for Pupil Appraisal Personnel.”

“During this session, we shared strategies for providing diverse learners with access to formal standardized assessments while maintaining the integrity of the assessments,” Lindsey shared. “We also highlighted the importance of addressing individual learner needs by incorporating appropriate considerations and statements to ensure evaluations remain defensible, valid, accurate, and meaningful.”

Deeply passionate about serving Lafourche Parish, Lindsey thrives on collaboration and finding the unique strengths in every child.

“I love conducting student interviews because these small conversations remind me of my “why,’” she said. “Also, I enjoy working with my peers. We challenge one another to grow as professionals because we all share the same goal:doing what is best for each individual student.”

Please join us in thanking Lindsey for her unwavering dedication to our district and her professional commitment to advocacy at the state level. We are profoundly grateful for her compassion and expertise and the lasting impact she makes on our students and families each and every day.
