For today’s #SundaySpotlight, the Lafourche Schools Spotlight is on Ashley McCullough.
Ashley has been with the Lafourche Parish School District for 11 years and is the assistant sales tax collector in the Sales and Use Tax Department, which is the sole collector of sales and use tax for all of the taxing authorities located in Lafourche Parish.
A graduate of South Lafourche High School, Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University and a master’s degree from Louisiana State University – Shreveport. She was recognized as one of the 2025 Best of Lafourche: Forty Under Forty honorees, which celebrates outstanding young professionals for their passion, purpose and leadership in shaping our community.
”Ashley has demonstrated exceptional skills and expertise in sales tax,” said Amanda Granier, sales tax collector for Lafourche Parish. “This is evident in her work as a sales tax auditor and assistant sales tax collector for the Lafourche Parish Sales and Use Tax Department. Ashley is a team player, always willing to lend a hand to colleagues and take on additional responsibilities whenever necessary”
“Her leadership skills have been put to the test, and she has consistently delivered results that exceed expectations,“ Granier added. “Her work with the Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators (LATA) organization has earned her a great reputation in the industry. This is further evident by the achievement of her earning her certification as a LATA Certified Tax Examiner in 2023.”
Ashley’s work is fundamental to the daily operations of our entire community, funding everything from education and law enforcement to levees and parish infrastructure. We are grateful for her technical expertise and her commitment to public service. Please join us in thanking Ashley for her 11 years of service and for all she does to support the residents of Lafourche Parish.
