For today’s #SundaySpotlight, the Lafourche Schools Spotlight is on Lauren Ledet.

Lauren has been with the Lafourche Parish School District for 11 years and is a professional school counselor at her alma mater, Central Lafourche High School. She earned a Master of Education in Professional School Counseling from Nicholls State University and is currently a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor.

Lauren is a school counselor who has worked joyfully and tirelessly at numerous schools in the district to support students through the triumphs and difficulties of growing up,” said Laney Kirk, SPED Compliance and Programming Manager, who nominated her for the Spotlight. “She now gives her gifts to the students of CLHS as a school counselor.”

Outside of her work as a school counselor, Lauren has also demonstrated a personal commitment to ensuring every young person has the resources and encouragement they need to thrive.

“In her free time, she and her husband help to oversee PAL (Peer Adaptive League) Sports, a nonprofit organization located in the Central Lafourche area that pairs peer supports with other youth with disabilities as they participate in a variety of local sports” Kirk added. “Lauren is active in supporting the youth in her community and at her school with an unmatched level of compassion, professionalism and joy. Her kindness, hard work, and dedication to the youth of our area have made our community a better place to live and our district a better place to work.”

Lauren’s passion and commitment to supporting students and fostering inclusion are truly inspiring. Please join us in thanking her for her tireless work on behalf of the youth of Lafourche Parish.
