For today’s #SundaySpotlight, the Lafourche Schools Spotlight shines brightly on Elizabeth “Liz” Nuccio.

Mrs. Liz is currently the head custodian at the School Board’s Central Office. She is a graduate of Thibodaux High School and has been a valued employee of the Lafourche Parish School District for 18 ½ years. She has worked in an educational setting for an incredible 31 years.

Her commitment goes beyond simply maintaining the Central Office; her work ensures a clean, safe, and professional environment that supports the entire district's administration. Whether it's ensuring the administrative and IT offices are pristine or preparing conference rooms for board and staff meetings, her contributions are foundational to the smooth operation of the district.

“This week’s Spotlight should undoubtedly shine on Mrs. Liz,” said Gwen Martinez, executive assistant to the Superintendent, in her nomination of Mrs. Liz. “I've consistently witnessed her tireless work ethic—she's always visible, always willing to assist, and never complains, no matter the task. What truly sets her apart is her commitment to excellence; she doesn't just do her job, she takes pride in it, often tackling tasks before they're even asked.”

“She is the epitome of a 'go above and beyond' employee,” Martinez added. “Her consistent excellence and unwavering positive attitude make her an invaluable member of our team. Mrs. Liz not only keeps our workspace and building fresh and clean but does so with a dedication that sets a high standard for everyone."

Lacy McKinney, the district's supervisor of IT, echoed this sentiment.

“Mrs. Liz is an outstanding custodian whose dedication and care bring pride and purpose to every space she touches,” McKinney said. “I’ve had the privilege of working alongside her at Chackbay Elementary and now at the district level, where her hard work, uplifting spirit, and meticulous attention to detail consistently create welcoming environments.”
