Today, on International Women in Maritime Day, we’re proud to celebrate our very own Mrs. Abby Cantrelle — a leader, educator, and passionate advocate for the maritime industry. ⚓🌊
Miss Abby’s journey started straight out of high school as a deckhand on tugboats, proving early on that determination can chart an incredible course. She went on to attend Texas A&M Maritime Academy, earned her Unlimited Tonnage U.S. Coast Guard License, obtained countless maritime certifications, and worked aboard offshore supply vessels throughout her career.⛴️
Now, she’s bringing that experience full circle by building our high school maritime program from the ground up — creating opportunities, opening doors, and helping students discover exciting careers on the water.
Her passion for the maritime industry shines through in everything she does, but what makes her impact truly special is her dedication to helping students find their path, gain confidence, and realize there is a place for them in the maritime world.
Thank you, Miss Abby, for helping shape the next generation of mariners and for showing our students what hard work, leadership, and passion can accomplish. 🚢💙
