The EMT program at the CMC Is more than a class—it’s a pathway to real-world experience, service, and careers in healthcare and public safety right here in our parish.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥
Students learn life-saving skills including patient assessment, airway management, bleeding control, cardiac care, and teamwork under pressure. Instruction is led by an EMT instructor with real-life experience working in the field, bringing firsthand knowledge, real calls, and practical decision-making into the classroom every day.🚨🩼
What truly sets this program apart is hands-on, real-world training. Students complete 24 hours of clinical time riding on an ambulance, gaining firsthand exposure to emergency calls. These clinical hours take place during Mardi Gras season—one of the busiest times for EMS, giving students an authentic look at emergency medicine when it matters most. 🚑🚨⚜️
Graduates can earn national EMT certification, allowing them to enter the workforce straight out of high school or continue their education in nursing, fire service, paramedicine, or other healthcare careers. 👩🏼‍🚒👩🏼‍⚕️
