This week's Spotlight on Lafourche Schools is on ππ§π§ππππ ππππ’π§.
Annette is a certified administrative assistant in the Human Resources Department and serves as the District's time clock administrator and leave specialist. She is a graduate of Central Lafourche High School and completed two years of technical college in office and computer applications with business accounting. She earned the Certified Administrative Assistant (CAA) designation from the Louisiana Institute for Administrative Assistants (LIAA) and had 20 years of administrative office experience before entering the Lafourche Parish school system 15 years ago.
While most of Annetteβs work is done behind the scenes, she is an essential part of the LPSD team as she is responsible for ensuring that employees are being paid correctly.
βAnnette goes unnoticed because many new hires never meet her until they have a leave or time-clock question,β says Tiffany Guy, Human Resources manager. βShe works many hours to ensure that employees' time is recorded correctly so they can get paid accurately and that the district complies with regulations. She receives many daily questions about leaves, such as maternity leave, sick leave, extended sick leave, personal time, vacation time for 230-240 employees, and jury duty. She is very knowledgeable and diligent in answering questions from employees. Many questions can be very complex and scenario-based. She remains fair and consistent in her information while reflecting district policies.β
βShe has a great personality for excellent customer service to support the employees who keep Lafourche Parish School District so successful,β Guy added. βShe is an asset to the Human Resources department of LPSD and the employees she supports daily.β
Please join us in thanking Annette for her many years of dedicated service to the Lafourche Parish School District.
